Event management Hobart, example 1:
SJ Venues and Events were tasked with providing full event management services in Hobart for a NFP organisation looking at holding their annual conference in the city. SJ Venues and Events recommended a conference venue in Hobart for the client to review, before booking the event at the RACV/RACT Apartment Hotel (formally Mercure Hadleys Hobart). An offsite dinner venue, as well as all on-ground transportation were also managed by our team.
Along with sourcing and booking the hotel, SJ Venues and Events had to manage the complex situation of the hotel changing ownership throughout the conference planning process. This involved reviewing all contractual obligations, old and new T&C’s, internal and external suppliers, catering and menus, meeting and accommodation rates, as well as the overhaul, change and re-training of internal hotel staff.
The complicated nature of the particular conference and takeover by the RACV/RACT made it quite an interesting challenge for SJ Venues and Events. Overall though, the venue met the client’s needs, the transition between hotel chains was quite smooth and the conference itself was a great success. So much so, that the client has engaged SJ Venues and Events to once again manage their events in 2015 and beyond.
